JOHN ACCORDING TO DAISHA:
We met in 2014 through a mutual friend. Daisha had sworn off dating for her last year of college since she was working, dancing full time, and trying to get good grades. John had just gotten out of a relationship. (The perfect recipe for romance right?!)
When we first met, John didn't know it was a set up but Daisha did and when she saw John she changed her mind about the whole no-dating thing and told the matchmaking friend to pass her number along.
We started dating in early 2015 and had so much fun getting to know each other, meeting each other's families/friends, and falling in love. We went on the most fun dates- hiking, seeing comedy shows, spending time with friends, and going to Jazz games. One of our favorites was going to a thrift store, picking out outfits for each other, and then going out to eat IN THE RIDICULOUS OUTFITS!
John proposed in February 2016 using one of our shared favorite books (Pride and Prejudice). There were pictures in the pages of the book with little notes, and then a heart cut in the back pages holding the ring.
We got married in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 16, 2016 and had a fun reception surrounded by family and friends. We ate fruit and flavored popcorn, and danced a bunch! It was so much fun! We also definitely forgot things to serve cake with so we sent people home with tiers of it. (At least ONE thing had to go wrong or it wouldn't be a wedding. Now it's a funny story!)
We went on our honeymoon to Las Vegas then Disneyland.
We've been so lucky to travel the world together, buy our first home together, and live a beautiful life with our three dogs. We're big believers in continuing to date each other and choose each other everyday. Our home is one of love, fun, kindness, and joy even in all the ups and down. We can't wait to bring a baby into our family and continue to watch that love grow and spread to a little one!
We can't talk about us and our family without talking about the three fur babies! They are spunky, fun, full of love, loyalty, and snuggles, and make it so there's never a dull moment!
Breed: Blue Heeler
Age: 10
Loves: Anything active - especially fetch, car rides, and going for walks, playing with toys, treats, bossing Odie around
Nicknames: Begs, Sheriff, Beggers
What we love most about him: We got Begbie while we were dating and he's been through all our ups and downs. He's the most loving dog and we call him the Sheriff because he makes sure everything is how it's supposed to be everyday. He's strong-willed and so smart. He's the best, most loyal friend anyone could ask for and we're so glad he's ours.
Breed: Wolfadoodle
Age: 7
Loves: Snuggles, being sung to, zoomies, snow, walks (even though he gets too excited to go far), meeting new people, sleeping on our bed right by Daisha
Nicknames: Noodle, Noods, Doodles, Doods, Big Guy, Floofer
What we love most about him: Odie is our teddy bear and he loves everyone! He would prefer snuggling on the couch and getting loves over any sort of toy. He always knows when one of us is down and needs extra loves and he brings so much sweetness and silliness to our home that we are grateful for everyday.
Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Age: 12
Loves: Snuggles, toys, walks, exploring outside, having everyone home together, being held
Nicknames: Snugs, Nugget, Nuggie
What we love most about him: Max is our only dog we haven't had since he was a puppy. Our friend found someone giving him away for free and we all saw he wasn't being treated nicely. He's our rescue and has a totally different demeanor than the other two. He is so sweet and just wants to be loved. He wants to be such a good boy and HATES being left alone. His favorite toy is a stuffed lamb that he always knows the location of. He has the most loving personality and we couldn't love him more!
